Aakash IV To Be Ready By January 2014: Kapil Sibal

Last month only, we reported about the proposed specifications for the low-cost tablet Aakash IV. It Seems that the Indian Government wants to take this on a fast track atleast, hence specifications have been finalised in a month’s time. “Yesterday we had meeting on the Aakash. The generation 4 Aakash is ready. The specifications of next version of low-cost tablet Aakash are finalised, which would be ready by January 2014,” said Telecom and IT Minister Kapil Sibal. The minister also said that around 12 manufacturers from around the world are ready to make the Aakash IV tablet in India. “There is no problem in terms of manufacture. In fact lines are ready for manufacture, what they need is orders.” he added. The Directorate General of Supplies and Disposals (DGS&D) will start the process for orders for Aakash IV. We cannot confirm the final specifications of Aakash IV, as we are yet to receive the final press release by the government. But as per proposed specifications, the latest version of Aakash should be capable of supporting 4G services, phone calling features, 4 GB in built storage and bluetooth connectivity etc.

Report : Nokia Will Announce Windows Tablet At Their Event In NYC On September 26-27

Nokia will hold a two-day event in New York on September 26 and 27. According to Windows Phone Central, no details were spilled as to the nature or topic of the event, but one obvious candidate is a Nokia’s tablet. The company has traditionally used New York to unveil major new Lumia devices. In September 2012, Nokia launched the Lumia 920 in New York, and earlier this month, the Lumia 1020 made its debut in the city. With a full lineup of Lumia phones now up for sale, the time may be ripe for a long-awaited tablet. In May, Jo Harlow, executive vice president of smart devices for Nokia, also teased the notion, saying: “We’re very interested in tablets and that’s an area we’re looking at.” Multiple sources suggests that Nokia is currently testing a tablet among different carriers, If that’s true then company could coincide the launch of a tablet with the release of Windows 8.1. The site also claims that they have received a description for the Nokia’s tablet that suggests a Nokia Lumia phone like design with “bright colours and rounded corners”. The rumoured tablet is expected to feature an 11-inch display. Recently gfxbench.com leaked the above image of the benchmark results, which suggested that the alleged Nokia RX-114 tablet would be powered by a quad-core processor with Adreno 330 GPU graphics processor and is expected to run on Windows RT. Earlier this month, The Verge said that Nokia reportedly had plans to develop a 10-inch tablet outfitted with Windows RT, but the company has decided to nix it in favour of one running the full version of Windows 8. Now when the event is already lined up on September 26-27, we could certainly guess the launch. For more details. Stay tuned..
