Lenovo Unveils a 5-Inch Smartphone Vibe X And a 7-Inch S5000 Tablet

Lenovo Unveiled two new products at IFA Berlin, which are dubbed for China launch in October,2013 and rest of the world except Europe to follow in December. A premium 5-inch phone – Lenovo Vibe X and a 7-inch HD display – Lenovo S5000 tablet. Both the devices run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Keith Liu, director of launch marketing at Lenovo Business Group, outlined a plan that revolves around an October launch in China with the rest of the world following in Dec.

Lenovo Vibe X

Lenovo at IFA announced, Lenovo Vibe X as the thinnest and lightest phones in the market, the phone is 6.9mm in thickness and weighs 121g. With the unveiling of Vibe X, Lenovo aims high-end smartphone market.

The Lenovo Vibe X features a 5-inch, 1,920-by-1,080 display made from scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with 440 pixels per inch. It features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel front-facing cam.

The Vibe X will run a 1.5GHz, quad-core MTK 6589T processor and Android 4.2. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

“Lenovo continues to bring head-turning innovations to the PC Plus marketplace with the Lenovo Vibe X smartphone’s uncompromising hardware design, its rich display and memory-making camera technologies,” Wayne Chen, vice president and general manager of Lenovo’s mobile business unit, said in a statement.

Lenovo S5000

Speaking about the other unveiling by Lenovo at IFA – the Lenvo S5000 is claimed to be World’s lightest 7-inch tablet by the company. At 246g, the company claims that the tablet is nearly one-fifth times lighter than other tablets.

The Lenovo S5000 tablet comes with a 7-inch display with 1280x800pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek 8389 processor. It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera. The tablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The Lenovo S5000 tablet includes a USB on-the-go port for storage expansion or for charging other devices and is backed by a 3,450mAh battery that can deliver up to eight hours of Wi-Fi web browsing or up to six hours of HD video viewing.

“Along with the S5000 tablet, these carefully crafted devices unleash a powerful blend of beautiful and smart technology to improve people’s lives.” Wayne Chen added.

IFA 2013 : Acer DA241HL All-In-One Android PC Introduced

Acer has unveiled interesting all-in-one computer that fans of the Android operating system may find very interesting. The DA241HL is the AiO in question, packing a NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. The Acer DA241HL is being touted for its combination of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system and Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core CPU. By opting for Android instead of Windows, the DA241HL offers an experience that Android-tablet users will find familiar, complete with apps and media from Google, easy syncing with smartphones and tablets, and a more powerful processor than those found in most tablets and phones. The Android All-in-One is also family-friendly, supporting up to five separate users, complete with personal customization and apps. “It’s designed to offer users the same familiar experience as with tablets and smartphones,” the company said. “The Tegra processing power provides access to the top sold [sic] games and features on Google Play that are not supported or slow to play with other processors.” Interestingly, Acer has not mentioned how much storage the Acer DA241HL will have to offer, which is certainly something potential buyers may be interested in. Other features include MHL connectivity (for smartphone connections), HDMI and USB support and a tilting angle of 20 to 75 degrees for “comfortable touch experience.” The Acer DA241HL can connect to Windows 8 PC via HDMI or USB, in which case it becomes a monitor with 2-point multitouch. Pricing and availability for the Acer DA241HL are unannounced at this time.
