Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet leaked in Cyan Color

In a few weeks at Abu Dhabi at Nokia World, the company will announce its latest product strategy, the Lumia 2520 Tablet. Notorious Tipster @evleaks is back with some fresh images of the upcoming Lumia 2520 tablet in the expected cyan color. 

What is currently unknown is the list of specs of the device, however we did hear that it will carry a Snapdragon 800, an outdoor-ready 1080p screen and LTE, the tablet would last a healthy 10 hours on battery. It would also include both 6-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, and Nokia may complement the previously mentioned 32GB of storage with a microSD card slot. The only real thing that needs to be found is what OS it will run between an option of Windows 8, RT and Windows Phone. LG is already mass producing a flexible display curved smartphone

Reports are coming out of LG’s home territory of Korea that the company is already mass producing a curved smartphone that utilizes a flexible OLED panel. The phone is expected to carry the name LG Z and could appear for sale before the end of the month in Korea.


What LG has apparently done is take a 6-inch flexible OLED panel and fitted it into a curved shell to form the smartphone. The end result is a fixed shape curved smartphone, but one that is thought to have advantages over the more typical flat phones when it comes to holding and using it. It’s a more natural shape to hold, basically.


It seems unlikely the curving of the handset will be very extreme. While you can make the display and casing curved, the core components inside the handset remain solid, flat objects. LG will be forced to either use a smaller battery or two batteries inside the Z, which will ultimately raise the manufacturing costs and complexity of the phone, or lower battery life considerably.


The components being used in the LG Z have yet to be confirmed, but a Snapdragon 800 processor, support for LTE, and a 1080p display are expected alongside Android as the mobile OS of choice.

Early this year Samsung demonstrated a couple of prototype flexible displays carrying the brand name YOUM, one of which was suitable for smartphones. However, they haven’t launched a product using it yet, and clearly LG isn’t ready to let us start folding or rolling up a display in one of its handsets yet, either. Maybe next year, then.

Sony Launches Cyber-Shot DSC-QX100 and DSC-QX10 Lens Cameras in India

New Sony camera and new smartphone

Sony today launched the all new lens cameras, DSC-QX100 and DSC-QX10 adding up to its Cyber-shot range. These cameras can easily clip on the smartphone and can be connected via NFC.
Both the lens cameras fits in all the popular smartphones, as said by the company and the connection to the phone is made via NFC and the latest version of Sony’s PlayMemories mobile app. The lens cameras do not have to be necessarily attached to the phone all the time as they can be placed anywhere the users want it to be and the shutter can still be controlled from the mobile.
The DSC-QX10 weighs 105 grams with the battery, the device has a 18.2 MP Exmor R CMOS sensor with the Sony G lens. The device has a 10x optical zoom range, along with a SteadyShot, which the company claims will combat with the camera shake, give steady and blur free videos.
On the other hand, the DCS-QX100 has a 1.0 type Exmor R CMOS sensor with 20.2 MP, this device has dedicated keys to control the zoom and shutter release on the camera body. This device is teamed with a wide aperture Carl-Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens with 3.6x optical zoom that also include a Optical SteadyShot.
Both these devices have BIONZ processors which the company claims will give natural, detailed packed stills and HD videos along with superior audio. The DSC-QX100 has a dedicated control ring for adjustment if manual focus and zoom.

Google announces Android 4.4 KitKat

Google is calling the next iteration of its Android OS KitKat. The new OS was earlier called Key Lime Pie, but Google finally decided upon KitKat, the famous chocolate brand from Nestle. If you think that this is a sweet financial deal for the two companies, then you'd be wrong. Google told BBC that it had come up with the idea and that neither side was paying the other. John Lagerling, director of Android global partnerships, told the BBC, "This is not a money-changing-hands kind of deal." Simon Myers, a partner at the consultancy Prophet has said in the BBC report, "If your brand is hooked up with another, you inevitably become associated with that other brand, for good or ill." 50 million KitKat chocolate bars in 19 countries will have the Android branding. Buyers of the chocolate bar will have a chance to win a Nexus 7 tablet along with Google Play gift cards. The Android OS expected to launch after Jelly Bean was called Key Lime Pie internally in Google’s offices. Mr Lagerling said, "We realized that very few people actually know the taste of a key lime pie." KitKat on the other hand is a popular snack in many counties. A Google spokesperson explained to The Verge that the new Android version's name was inspired by the Engineering Head Hiroshi Lockheimer's love of KitKat bars. Google has named the Android OS after sweets in an alphabetical order for quite some time. In 2008 Android 1.0 was launched without a name. In 2009 we saw Android 1.1 without a name too. Then came Android 1.5 Cupcake, Android 1.6 Donut and Android 2.0 Éclair. In 2010 we saw the launch of Android 2.2 Froyo and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. 2011 saw the launch of Android 3.0 Honeycomb and then came the OS that unified Android for the tablet and smartphone, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Last year, in 2012 we saw Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. We are still waiting to hear a launch date for the next Android OS, Android 4.4 KitKat.

Nokia : WP8 Amber Update Will Roll Out To All Devices By September End

Nokia has promised that its Lumia Amber update will reach all Windows Phone 8 devices by the end of September.

The Finnish phone maker is rolling out the update for its Lumia 920, Lumia 820, Lumia 720, Lumia 620 and Lumia 520 as well as their variants.

Amber introduces a number of new features to the Lumia range, including new photo-editing tools and improved camera capabilities. The Nokia Smart Camera app also introduces motion sequence shooting on its high-end Lumia 920, 925 and 928 handsets.

The Amber update also has “Glance Screen,” a tool that makes your phone’s inactive state more interesting. When your handset is inactive, it will display a clock and battery information. So, you can more quickly interact with your phone without having to do anything at all. You can turn off Glance, of course, or have it switch off after a set amount of time.

Unfortunately the negative news includes that some of the most desirable features are not coming to all handsets.

In the post Nokia confirms that the ‘double tap to wake’ feature is not supported on Lumia 720, Lumia 625, Lumia 620, Lumia 521, Lumia 520.

Also Nokia confirmed the FM Radio feature will not be coming to the Lumia 620, Lumia 810 and Lumia 928 as they “do not have the FM radio chip.”

Nokia recently launched its new Nokia Here Auto in-dash navigation system.
