What if manufacturers would come up with a control scheme that would allow users to easily and single-handedly control smartphones with 5+ inches screens? That would be perfect, right? We know that Samsung has been working on implementing such a control scheme through some software tweaks, LG was bold enough to move the power and volume rockers on the back of its upcoming flagship, and now it looks like Oppo will take it one step further.
The Oppo N1 rear touch panel is teased in a new ad promoting the camera-oriented smartphone. The teaser shows a photo of the bare back of a woman. In the middle, the double entendre “Don’t just touch the front, the back is also interesting…” appears. At the bottom of the teaser, are the words “N1 Rear Touch Panel. A brand new user experience.”
Not only does the Playstation Vita utilize a panel on the back, but we’ve even seen a Google patent related to the idea of using rear touch on mobile devices.
This camera-centric smartphone is set to release in late September (regions unconfirmed) and from what we’ve heard so far the Oppo N1 will have a lot to recommend it.
Oppo has been coming up with some very notable phones recently and obviously the focus of the N1 is on its camera capabilities. It’s expected that this camera phone will have a 12-megapixel rear camera with Xenon flash and that the new Owl technology will provide better quality images in Iow light conditions.
Stay tuned for more updates!

iPhone's Camera Is Awful - Claims New Nokia Lumia 925 Advertisment
Posted on 04:18 by rgyaan with No comments
Camera war heats up with Nokia’s new advertisement for the Lumia 925′s camera, claiming it to be better than the iPhone’s camera. An Apple ad says – more people take pictures with an iPhone than with any other camera. This fine argument has been used by Apple more than once. In a new ad, Nokia picks it up and slaps Apple across. It says “Everyday more photos taken on an iPhone than any other phone, but at Nokia we prefer to build for quality, not just quantity.”
The ad lures you into believing this might be that very Apple ad, or at least another in the series.
Then the voice of Helsinki sinks its teeth into Apple’s hubris: “At Nokia, we prefer to build for quality, not quantity.”
It’s an understandable strategy, one that has already been expressed in the new Lumia 1020 ad.
Clearly, Nokia has embraced the concept of its phones being a wonderful camera with a keyboard attached.
Why would anyone buy an iPhone 5 after this? Why wouldn’t everyone want an 8.7-megapixel camera, Carl Zeiss lens, and dual LED flash at their side all the time?
While Nokia clearly intends to show off the imaging prowess of its Lumia devices, as imaging is the major differentiators in its flagship phones, the parody is in bad taste, and clearly reflects Nokia’s frustration at not being able to sell as many Lumia devices as it intends to.
