HTC One Dual SIM Spotted On Website: Coming Soon

In April, HTC launched the HTC One, their flagship smartphone in India. Since then HTC One is the hottest looking Android smartphone available in India. Now the Taiwanese giant is set to announce a Dual SIM variant of HTC One in India. Originally, the HTC One Dual SIM was launched in the Chinese market earlier this year. Since then, it was speculated that HTC might announce the dual SIM version for the Indian market as well. The handset is now listed on the company’s official site with a “Coming Soon” tag. The HTC One Dual SIM is slightly modified in comparison to single SIM version. The HTC One single SIM version comes with fixed internal storage – 32GB/64GB. With HTC One Dual SIM users can expand the internal storage via microSD card up to 64GB. Also with slight more thickness(0.41 inch) to the single SIM version, the HTC One Dual SIM weighs 13g more. Rest all features are pretty much the same as the HTC one single SIM version. There are no details on the pricing of the HTC One Dual SIM version, but we expect it to be the the same as the HTC One. Stay tuned for more on the HTC One Dual SIM version.

Jelly Bean Now On 40% Of Android Devices

Each month, Google posts the breakdown of its Android versions, ostensibly for developers to see which ones they can target with their apps. As of August 1st, over 40% of users run Jelly Bean and, combined with Ice Cream Sandwich, 63% of users run phones with Android 4.0 or above. While this is not necessarily the target we’re looking for — over 90% of iOS users run the latest version, according to Apple — it indicates that Google has largely stabilized the fragmentation issue. Gingerbread is holding fairly steady at 33%, dropping only 1.1% from the previous month. In fact, Ice Cream Sandwich also dropped from last month as more devices were upgraded to Jelly Bean, both in the 4.1 and 4.2 flavours. Google’s now next-to-newest version, Android 4.2, is only running on 6.5% of devices, and some of them would have been upgraded to 4.3 in the past week or so. Unfortunately, Android 1.6, 2.1 and 2.2 still exist, though their numbers are dwindling as users replace their phones with newer models. The big takeaway from this is that developers can now soundly target Android 4.0+ without worrying that they’re alienating the entire ecosystem, something that couldn’t be said a year ago.

The Samsung Galaxy Core will come with Android 4.1 along with TouchWiz out of the box, where Samsung has also included the tradition set of features and apps, including the Social Hub, Smart Stay and Motion etc. Samsung has recently become very aggressive with the market launching several phones each month. With the mega success of their Galaxy Grand series Samsung also launched the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 to win over the “phablet market”. Samsung is said to announce over a hundred new handsets in 2013 with their major focus on mid range handsets.
