Maruti Suzuki finally brings a sporty look on the Swift with its limited edition Swift RS. Maruti has announced that the new limited edition Swift RS will be available only in limited numbers and for a short period. The limited edition Swift RS comes with 3-piece body kit that includes front and rear bumper enrichment and a roof spoiler. The black wheel covers are being introduced for the first time in the Swift RS. The car also has black and blue body graphics with blue rear view mirrors. The Swift RS is equipped with an illuminated Swift emblem at the sill on all four doors. On the inside of Swift RS, interiors have RS upholstery in black and blue. The car also gets a music system with a CD player, Aux-in and USB capability. The limited edition model will be available in VXi (Petrol) and VDi (Diesel). The extra cost of the RS package is Rs 24,500. The current models of petrol (1.2L) and diesel (1.3L) are available between Rs 4.49 lakh and Rs 6.88 lakh. “The Swift RS is in continuation of Maruti Suzuki’s celebrations planned around the Swift model, as it moves towards the ‘1 million’ cumulative sales mark,” said Manohar Bhat, company’s VP Marketing. Swift had sold over 9.6 lakh units since its launch in May 2005, he said, adding that the company was confident that limited edition of Swift RS would be ideal for customers who looked to enhance the sporty character of their car. The Swift not only pioneered the premium compact segment in the country, it continues to remain the top selling car in the segment.
