At an event in Korea, the company revealed plans for the next few years including devices with AMOLED panels sporting 560ppi (pixel per inch) pixel density. It also expects to launch phones with WQHD resolution (2560x1440) by next year, though the exact launch timings have not been revealed. Further, the Korean giant intends to launch smartphones with 4K displays sometime in 2015. It is also believed that Samsung is claiming one out of every three patents for flexible displays. That's not it, the Korean giant also revealed that it is working on custom ARM CPU, pretty identical to Qualcomm and Apple. This implies that Samsung will soon be launching its custom CPU architecture licensed from ARM and which will be compatible with ARM instructions for its upcoming devices. Samsung has given assurance to its investors that they will have new technology to take on Apple, and that there will be renewed focus on tablets. A recent report suggests that Samsung's tablet sales would exceed 40 million units in 2013, which is more than double the sales of Samsung tablets in 2012. Also, top executives at Samsung have also announced new plans for devices, such as devices with foldable displays and foldable phones expected to be launched by 2015. Of late, Samsung has been putting in a lot of effort in new form factors such as phablets, wearing devices (Galaxy Gear), flexible phones, curved display smartphones (Samsung Galaxy Round) and even foldable phones. However, Samsung did not reveal a time period for devices with folding displays but clearly suggested that the company is working on such devices.

Galaxy S5 and other Samsung phones will have 560 ppi displays next year launches

Think the 441 ppi display on the Galaxy S4 is pretty stunning? Just wait until next year when Samsung plans to dazzle (and possibly confuse) your retinas with incredible 560 ppi WQHD panels.
The 2560×1440 displays that Samsung says are on the way will pack nearly as many pixels (3.6 million vs. 4 million) into your smartphone as Apple managed to fit into the new MacBook Pro. Obviously the effect is slightly different at 13 or 15 inches than it will be in the 5-inch range.
What’s perhaps even more amazing is that Samsung also told the audience at its 2013 Analyst Day that it plans on shipping 4K displays in their phones by 2015. That’s right. In less than two years the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 will have twice the resolution of today’s 1080p models.
Looking back, though, it’s really just the way smartphones have been trending for the last couple of years. The Galaxy S2 arrived in the spring of 2011 with a humble 4-inch, 480×800 pixel display. The evolution to today’s 1080p displays was actually a slightly bigger leap than what’s coming.
And while Samsung didn’t make any specific promises about flexible displays they did take the time to point out that they own 33% of all flexible display-related patents. In total, Samsung has around 10,000 display patents in its portfolio.
Also coming next year from Samsung: 64-bit Exynos processors. They’ll play a very important role, too, since pushing all those extra pixels is going to require a decent amount of computing power.

Sony Launches Cyber-Shot DSC-QX100 and DSC-QX10 Lens Cameras in India

New Sony camera and new smartphone
Sony today launched the all new lens cameras, DSC-QX100 and DSC-QX10 adding up to its Cyber-shot range. These cameras can easily clip on the smartphone and can be connected via NFC.
Both the lens cameras fits in all the popular smartphones, as said by the company and the connection to the phone is made via NFC and the latest version of Sony’s PlayMemories mobile app. The lens cameras do not have to be necessarily attached to the phone all the time as they can be placed anywhere the users want it to be and the shutter can still be controlled from the mobile.
The DSC-QX10 weighs 105 grams with the battery, the device has a 18.2 MP Exmor R CMOS sensor with the Sony G lens. The device has a 10x optical zoom range, along with a SteadyShot, which the company claims will combat with the camera shake, give steady and blur free videos.
On the other hand, the DCS-QX100 has a 1.0 type Exmor R CMOS sensor with 20.2 MP, this device has dedicated keys to control the zoom and shutter release on the camera body. This device is teamed with a wide aperture Carl-Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens with 3.6x optical zoom that also include a Optical SteadyShot.
Both these devices have BIONZ processors which the company claims will give natural, detailed packed stills and HD videos along with superior audio. The DSC-QX100 has a dedicated control ring for adjustment if manual focus and zoom.

Moto X Launched : Motorola X8, 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED starting US $ 199

Motorola and Google have finally made the Moto X rumored device official, it is dubbed the “Moto X” and is designed with the “user in mind”. The Moto X comes with the ability of the User to design their own phone, it is designed and assembled in the US.
Motorola has also redesigned the structure of the Handset, with new processing via Moto’s new X8 Mobile Computing System. A SoC based on a Snapdragon S4 Pro with a 1.7GHz dual-core Krait CPU and a quad-core Adreno 320 GPU, positioned alongside two unique Motorola processors, including one to handle language interpretation and a contextual computing core, which manages the smartphone’s sensors. Both of which are designed to ensure minimal battery drain when using these services.
The new Moto X has a 4.7-inch AMOLED display running at 720p, a 10-megapixel “ClearPixel” camera with 1080p video recording and will run Android 4.2.2. With the online app called Moto Maker, you choose the colors, and decide on the details: front, back, accents, memory, wallpapers, even add a name or a short message, a wooden case is also in the works and Motorola claims there are more than 2000 options with more to come soon.
The Moto X is powered by a 2,200mAh battery offering up to 24 hours of “mixed” usage and the handset is 4G LTE enabled. There’s a 10-megapixel Clear Pixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, both of which shoot 1080p video.
Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, GPS and GLONASS, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, Miracast Wireless Display, NFC and a nano-SIM.
Sales Begin at the end of August, the 16GB model will retail for $199 with a two-year contract on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon, the 32GB is an AT&T exclusive which will ship for $249. For now only AT&T customers will have access to additional color options via the online app those on other carriers can choose from black and white.
